ARTicles' approach to art is an odd mix of whimsy, surrealism, found objects and chance creations which abolish the separation between art and life. The history of that idea is familiar and so are its heroes- Picasso, Duchamp, Cornell, Arp, Ernst, Cheval-to name only a few. Objects are endowed with personality and every triviality becomes imbued with a significance. The commonplace is miraculous if rightly seen, if recognized.
	Alenka and Edgar Mullin-Loesch, the owners, have extensive backgrounds in the Arts, performing and exhibiting their works in the United States, Europe and Asia. After much traveling they choose Mendocino to settle down and create an art gallery/shop which not only hosts visual art but also produces events for performance, music and installation art.
